Thinking and acting sustainably is part of our corporate philosophy. It is important to us to manufacture our products and materials in an environmentally friendly manner. For PPS, the topic of sustainability and sustainable cleaning of buildings is a holistic approach based on ecological, but also economic and social principles. We have therefore subdivided our sustainable system into ecological, economic and social aspects and optimised each pillar individually.
This is also how PPSC® is structured as a product line. Our sustainable cleaning concept is a holistic solution to a complex question. PPSC® is divided into the four core processes of manual floor cleaning: Conception, pre-preparation, working process and preparation.

Intelligent implementation of requirements in practice
The first step towards a cleaning system that saves resources is an extensive object analysis and the selection of the optimal process. This allows the best system - the combination of cleaning method, trolley and textiles - to be defined. This first step alone can unleash great potential for minimizing the use of resources and protecting the employees' strengths.
In addition, our mop cover "PPSC MicroTec" and our microfibre cloth "PPSC MicroUltra" have been subjected to the strictest current tests for cleaning textiles. The award by the Nordic Ecolabel - also known as "Nordic Swan" - proves the signifikant lead of these two products.
Consume 20 percent less mop covers
In many cases, the pre-parparation method proves to be the optimal method for working in a resource-saving manner. Preperation - whether semi-automatic, fully automatic or manual - can reduce the consumption of water, cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
The mop cover used offers further savings potential. In short: a good mop has a much better cleaning performance in terms of the amount of material used. A long-term study conducted by the University Hospital of Freiburg has shown that the use of "PPSC MicroTec" reduces the need for mop covers by 20 percent.
Sustainable and ergonomic work processes
Pfennig Professional Sustainable Cleaning relies on a tried and tested cleaning process. The EasyMop method ensures that we do not waste any water or cleaning agents. Our colour-coded zone concept ensures that only the minimum of disinfectant is actually used and is also completely consumed. At the same time, with the EasyMop process, in which the mop covers are picked up and thrown off without hand-contact, we protect employees from possible dangers and minimize the occurrence of cross-contamination.
High-quality textiles and intelligent processes make it possible to simplify work steps and make them more effective. Studies have shown that our MicroTec mop cover can provide an average of 24 percent more cleaning performance than conventional textiles.

All textiles used for cleaning must be reprocessed, i.e. washed and dried if necessary. This is where high-tech fibre blends can once again demonstrate their quality: The larger the cleaned area per weight of cleaning textile used, the fewer mop covers have to be prepared. A long-term study carried out by the University Hospital of Freiburg has shown that PPSC textiles have reduced the material resources used by 58 percent.
